To truly understand the depth of Ms. Petrucci’s abilities, I’ll need to share a bit of context.

We were court-ordered to participate in family therapy. It’s a very complicated family dynamic but in short, a young child, a biological parent, and a legal guardian were the “family” ordered to attend therapy.
 

Shortly after beginning therapy, I became uncomfortable with things the therapist was saying to me and with the decisions the therapist was making. They were severely negatively impacting the child and I was being excluded from the therapy process. I talked to the child’s personal therapist about my concerns and she guided me, but even after following her suggestions it did not change the course or damage this family therapist was causing the child. I tried many strategies over the months to improve things, but I could not. Things got even worse as the therapist continued in a reckless manner.

I actually had to begin seeing my own therapist because of the trauma we were experiencing at the hands of this family therapist. I was desperate and despondent and still needed more guidance in how to handle this horrible situation. I finally reached out to Ms. Petrucci.  All I knew about her was that she was a therapist.
 

She was amazing. Words cannot begin to express the gratitude I have for her. She knew things about everything. She taught me that I was being bullied. She helped me learn how to deal with it. She provided suggestions to help protect the young child. She shared websites so I could learn what type of conduct is expected from therapists and the different kinds of therapies.
 

Ms. Petrucci’s expertise enabled me to logically understand what was happening to the child and me. She also always put the information in a format that respected the legalities while teaching me how to view the situations.

Her skills and professional knowledge provided her the ability to see beyond my emotional desperation to truly see what the actual problems were and how they could be better handled.

Ms. Petrucci’s dedication to helping us provided me with the strength and knowledge to sustain myself through two years of turmoil. The Judge was compelled to remove that therapist from our case because that therapist was practicing without an active license and then tried excusing it with misinformation under oath. I never wish this type of horror on anyone. However, if you should ever need an expert who can examine human behavior and objectively figure out what is really happening, not just what’s supposed to be or what others are saying is happening, Suzanne Petrucci, MSW, LCSW is the expert I highly recommend. She sees all sides and can discover angles to help even the most hopeless situation be less hopeless.
